PROGRAMMES/EVENTS:

Vihaan Care and Support Program: The programme is designed as the care & support component of the country’s HIV response under National AIDS Control Programme IV (NACP IV). The program Works in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Organisation, Department of AIDS Control Society and with support from the Global Fund. The programme operates in 31 states and territories and will reach more than one million PLHIV by 2016. The Vihaan consortium is led by India HIV/AIDS Alliance and 17 state-level PLHIV networks and NGOs that in turn partner with district-level PLHIV networks and other organisations to deliver care & support services in communities.

NCPI+ in Delhi commits to various events and workshops which cater to the wellbeing of the PLHIV community through Vihaan Care and Support Program. The events and programs are as follows

  • Sensitization Workshop of Vihaan staff for HIV – Tuberculosis Confection:

National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India with the support of State TB Division, New Delhi organized sensitization workshop for the Vihaan staff to understand HIV – TB confection on 13th – 14th February 2017 from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM for carrying out Active Case Finding Campaign in the ART center and to find active cases of TB in the community

  • Active Case Finding Campaign in ART centers:

National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India with the support of State TB Division and Delhi State AIDS control Society organized Active Case Finding Campaign from 23rd January – 08th February 2017

  • Advocacy meeting to plan a Road Map of Vihaan advocacy in New Delhi:

National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India after being appointed as SR of Vihaan care and support program organized first advocacy meeting with SSR partners to draw a road map and the action plan for the upcoming quarters of the program and to improve the major indicators.

  • Micro out reach plan for effective tracking of lost to Follow up cases:

In February 2017, NCPI+ in collaboration with Delhi state AIDS Control Society and India HIV/AIDS Alliance drew a micro plan and demarcated the geographical area of the each ORW for LFU cases as the pilot to increase the efficiency of the ORW and the program

  • Increasing the uptake of Social Protection Scheme for People Living with HIV:

An advocacy meeting was heldfor increasing the uptake of Social Protection Scheme and Delhi’s Financial Assistance Scheme. There have been lots of challenges faced by the people living with HIV to avail the benefits which are already available. The main aim of the meeting was to discuss SSR wise performance of social protection and entitlement schemes, Challenges in linkage of Social protection and social entitlement, Plan of action.

  • State Consultation on orphan and vulnerable children affected/infected by HIV­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­:

Orphan and vulnerable children living with HIV needs intensive care and support, realizing the concern of orphan and vulnerable children, NCPI+ is committed to work towards improving the quality of life of children orphan and vulnerable Living with HIV. NCPI+ in collaboration with Delhi State AIDS Control Society has organiesd the State Consultation for orphan and vulnerable children affected/infected with the objective to identify the solution of homes, rehabilitation, shelter, nutrition and educationon 19thDecember 2016.There were Panel Discussions which was fostered on understanding the issues and challenges faced by CLHIV.

  • Basketball Match supporting the mainstreaming of the HIV/AIDS movement:

National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India along with Delhi State AIDS Control society and District AIDS Protection Control Unit organized a basketball match in support of the mainstreaming activities of the people living with HIV/AIDS on February 20, 2017

  • National Meeting on Community Rights, Gender Technical Assistance Needs Assessments:

NCPI+ along with SLN and CSO organized meeting on Community Rights, Gender Technical Assistance Needs Assessments on 16 June 2016, New Delhi

  • Workshop on Strengthening Community for Hepatitis B and C:

National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India organized a Capacity Building Workshop on ‘Strengthening Community Understanding on Hepatitis B and C on 17 September 2016. B and C status and around 37 people have enrolled for the Test during the camp.

  • Capacity Building Workshop Communities Engagement in CCM Global Fund:

NCPI+ in India organized Capacity Building workshop on 18th September 2016 on Communities Engagement in CCM Global Fund. In this event where there were participants from 20 states in the meeting. The second regional meeting for North east was held in 21st December 2016 at Guwahati, 20 people from all 7states of north east has attended the same.
